Google Maps now lets you send messages to merchants directly from the Maps app on your phone. According to Google, the novelty is ideal for questions about products and services without having to call or go to the site and wait several minutes to be attended - which should make life easier for the user. The company clarifies that only stores registered in Business Profiles can exchange messages with customers.
In the following tutorial, check out how to send messages to stores via Google Maps. The procedure was performed on a Moto E4 with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but the tips are also valid for the iPhone app (iOS) version.

Step 1. Open the Google Maps app and locate the establishment you want to send messages to. You can find it on the map or use the search. Then tap on the name at the bottom of the screen;

Step 2. Now slide the screen up. From the available options, locate the "Contact us" option and touch it. Please note that this feature only appears for companies registered with Google Business Profiles;

Step 3. The conversation screen with the company will open. Finally, just send your question and wait for a response;

Step 4. Some companies may take time to respond. In this case, you can follow your conversations by accessing the Google Maps menu and opening "Messages".
