How to download and install themes on Sony Xperia mobile phone

Sony Ericsson Xperia line smartphones come with a wide variety of themes available for download. Among the free and paid options, most allow you to change the backgrounds, fonts, colors, icons and even the sounds of the interface with just a touch of the screen. Even so, the themes little interfere in the speed of the system and, if the user wishes, can also be easily removed.

Although they are easy to use, themes can go unnoticed to those on your first branded phone. TechTudo has prepared a tutorial with everything you need to know to use them. Although step by step has been accomplished with an Xperia XZ2 running Android O, the procedure is similar for all smartphones in the line.

How to use Google Lens on mobile

Step 1. Access the settings of your smartphone and select the "Appearance" option.

First, access the device's appearance settings

Step 2. Select the "Topics" option. Shortly thereafter, the interface will display all themes already installed on your smartphone, including options suggested by the manufacturer. In this interface, the suggested interfaces are marked with a down arrow.

Step 3. To try out some of the suggested themes, touch the desired option and touch "Download". After the download is finished, the theme in question will be applied automatically.

Step 4. If you want to test any options other than those suggested by Sony, you can go down to the bottom of the list and choose the "Get more themes" option. You will then be redirected to the manufacturer's theme store.

Step 5. Inside the store, you can navigate between the categories "Presented", "Most recent" and "All". Again, if you find a theme you want to try, simply touch the option you want, and this time choose the "Install" option.

Step 6. Once the installation is complete, the theme may not be automatically applied to the interface. In this case, to use it, you will need to return to Settings> Appearance> Themes, select the theme in question and then touch the "Apply theme" option.

Ready! With the theme of your preference already applied, just leave the settings screen and enjoy the new look of your smartphone.

Uninstalling a theme

Later, if you want to change the look of the device again, there is always the option to repeat the above steps applying a different theme. However, if you'd like to uninstall a theme, follow the instructions below:

Step 1. Re-visit Settings> Appearance> Themes and select the theme you want to remove. If the option is currently in use, look for the item with a check mark (✔) and select it.

First go to the theme selection screen and choose the one you want to uninstall

Step 2. Finally, after selecting the theme you want to remove, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and touch the "Uninstall" button.

Ready! The theme will be removed from your phone. If the removed option is the one currently in use, the default interface look will be restored automatically.
