MP3 Cut is a free application to cut music on Android phones. The tool is very simple to use, as well as being lightweight and weighing just over 2 MB. The file with the clipped excerpt is exported in MP3 and can be used as a ringtone or shared by WhatsApp and other format compatible applications.

In the following tutorial, learn how to use the MP3 Cut app to cut out stretches of music on your phone. The procedure was performed on a Moto E4 with Android 7.1.1, but the tips are also valid for other devices with the Google system.

Step 1. Install the MP3 cut application on your phone. When opening for the first time, you'll need to allow apps to access your files. Then choose the song you want to crop. If the file does not appear in the "Track" tab, open the "Directory" tab to navigate between your folders and locate the desired music;

Step 2. In the application editor, use the white markers to set the start and end points of the cutout. If necessary, click on the "+" and "-" buttons to enlarge or reduce the display size and be more precise. You can also enter the start and end times of the crop;

Step 3. After choosing the points at which the audio will be cropped, press play to hear the result and find out if the cut is correct. Once this is done, press the button in the lower right corner of the screen to save the file. Choose a name and go to "Save". The original song will not be overwritten;

Step 4. The songs edited by the application will be available in the "Trimmed" tab. Tap the button to the right of the file name to display the options. From there, you can set the sound as the ringtone of your phone, or by tapping "Send", open the sharing menu to send the file to WhatsApp or other social networks.
