Snapchat has hidden games; see how to use Snappables

Snapchat has launched the Snappables, interactive lenses that create experiences with friends and augmented reality games. Each filter shows a different game, allowing you to fight aliens, eat fruit, run with a horse or blow bubbles of soap. The types of games vary sporadically, at the discretion of the app, as well as the lenses. Each animation requires a different user command, which gains points by making certain body movements and facial expressions, such as moving the eyes or opening the mouth.

At the end of the video recording, the game shows the earned score and allows the player to share the snap with their friends to challenge them. Snappables are available on the Snapchat lens carousel, located to the left of the photo capture button. To turn them on, you need to tap the screen, making the app recognize your face and create the virtual environment. Check out the following tutorial on how to use Snappables.

In addition to games: check out ten tips for using Snapchat

Step 1. Open the Snapchat and tap on the screen so that the app identifies your face and shows the lens carousel. Choose one of the filters on the left side to activate a Snappable. An instruction will appear on the screen teaching you how to play. Remember that each filter requires its own motion;

Step 2. The phrase "Let's play?" Will appear above the record button indicating that you can now start the game. Tap the Play button to start recording - you do not have to hold the button. You must perform the facial command indicated in the previous step to play. In the example below, the goal was to eat strawberries. A timer at the top of the screen will show the time you have to score points.

Step 3. At the end of the count, your score will be displayed at the top of the screen and you can enter text, drawings and stickers normally. Then you can post the video on your story or send the snap to your friends to challenge them.
