Using automatic responses in WhatsApp Business

WhatsApp Business, the business version of Brazil's most popular messenger, has tools to automate responses. You can set up an automatic welcome or absence message and even create quick shortcuts for standard answers. To use the application, it is not necessary to have a CNPJ or pay fees.

Check out the following step-by-step instructions on configuring the WhatsApp Business message tools. The app is currently only available to Android users and there is no provision for launching an iPhone version (iOS).

Step 1. Touch the menu button in the upper right corner of the screen. Then tap Settings.

Step 2. Go to "Company Settings" and tap "Absence Message".

Step 3. Activate the "Absence message" option. To edit a default message, touch the pencil icon. Then type the text you want and tap "OK".

Step 4. Tap "Always send" to select when the message should be sent. Select the option you want, and then tap "Save."

Step 5. Returning to your company settings, tap "Greeting message". Turn on the feature in "Send greeting message" and tap on the pencil icon to edit the default text.

Step 6. Enter the desired message and tap "OK". Now touch "Save".

Step 7. Under "Quick Answers" you can create shortcuts to send standard messages. Tap the "+" in the lower right corner of the screen to create a new shortcut.

Step 8. Enter the message and, just below, the desired shortcut and tap "Save". On the chat screen, simply type "/" and select the quick answer. The text will be completed and can be sent as normal.
