Using Chromecast to turn the TV on and off

Step 1. Most TVs cut off the power of the USB ports when they are turned off, which also turns off any accessories connected to them. So if you have connected your Chromecast to one of the USB ports on your TV, the first step is to plug it in - preferably using the adapter that comes in the dongle box.
