Files Go is the official Google file manager for Android. In a recent update, the application gained compatibility with ZIP compressed files - quite common format on PC and in files received by email. In this way, the user can extract and view the contents of this type of file without needing applications like WinZip.

Files Go: Google promises four times faster file transfer

Step 1. Download the file to your phone. In the case of Gmail, for example, just touch the arrow icon to the right of the name. After completing the download, open Files Go and tap "Downloads" on the "Search" tab.

Step 2. The downloaded file, in ZIP format, will appear in the downloads list. Tap on it to view the content. To unzip the files, simply tap "Extract".

Step 3. You can then delete the original (compressed) file by checking the "Delete ZIP file" option. Tap "Done" to view the extracted files. To open them, just touch the desired item.

Step 4. The file will then be displayed on the screen. You can open documents in popular formats such as pictures, PDFs, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, music, and videos.
