What is BlaBlaCar? Here's how to use the app to ask for and offer rides

BlaBlaCar is an application that can be used to offer and get rides on the cell phone. The tool allows you to set up your daily routes - such as commuting to work, for example - or scheduled trips to share expenses with others. In this way, the service may be more accessible than other transport applications, such as Uber. Drivers and passengers should confirm the phone, link profiles on social networks, and send documents - which promises to give users more security. Everyone gets a score ranging from 0 to 5 stars.

How to ask for a ride

Step 1. Install the BlaBlaCar app on your phone. When you open it for the first time, you will need to register for free. To do this, tap "Sign up" and connect with your Facebook account or using an email address;

Step 2. In the "Search for a ride" tab, you must enter the departure and destination address to find available rides for the ride. In the search results, you can apply filters in the lower right corner of the screen, or create alerts to be notified about new rides;

Step 3. Tap on the ride you want to pick up to see the details. From there, it is possible to check the driver's classification, rider's value and more information. Slide the screen to the end to discover the car and see other passengers already confirmed. If you want to see details about the driver, touch his name. By touching "Continue" it is possible to book a ride;

Step 4. Choose the number of places you want to book and touch the blue arrow to continue. On the confirmation screen, if you have any questions, you can send a message to the driver in "Talk to the driver" and see the payment method. Finally, to confirm the reservation, touch "Reserve";

Step 5. Returning to the BlaBlaCar main screen, under the "Your car" tab, you can follow the status of offered and reserved car rides. Use the History tab to find old rides. Tap the chat bubble icon in the upper right corner of the screen to access the notifications and messages exchanged by the app;

How to offer a ride

Step 6. If you would like to share the costs of a trip with others, touch "Give a ride". Now, enter the information of the route that you will do, such as starting point, arrival, date, time, number of places available, amount charged and other details.
