Elections 2018: how to report electoral crime and irregular advertising

The voter can report electoral crime and irregular advertising by the Sparrow app. Developed by Electoral Justice, the application allows any citizen to report violations during the 2018 Elections by cell phone. The free tool - available for Android and iPhone (iOS) phones - is useful for logging campaign irregularities, which may feature election crime such as a ballot box, purchase of votes, or rallies on the eve of the vote. To report, the user can provide their personal and contact information, but you can also request that the information is confidential.

Through the Federal Public Mystery website (www.mpf.mp.br/pge/banners/denuncia), on the computer, it is also possible to report the infractions. The appeal serves as a mode of supervision during the second round of the 2018 Elections for the positions of presidency of the Republic and state governor. Step 1. Install the Sparrow app on your phone. When opening for the first time, some input screens will be displayed. Swipe to the side or tap "Next";

Step 2. The app will request access to your location to determine the status. Tap "Allow" and then press "Start";

Step 3. To file a report, touch "+" in the lower-right corner of the screen next to "New report." Then select the type of irregularity;

Step 4. Enter the location where the crime occurred and choose the person responsible for the crime - party, coalition or candidate. On the next screen, provide the details of the report and, if you wish, attach photos, videos or audios;

Step 5. In the last step, you need to provide your personal and contact details. If you want to keep them confidential, select the "Yes" option at the top of the screen. To conclude, go to "Submit Reporting."
