Step 1. If you have already backed up your data or removed your credentials, you can now format your Mac without fear. To do so, turn off the computer and press the power button to start again. In the meantime, hold down the Command + R keys until the end of the boot process.

Step 2. If all goes well, you will skip the macOS and access the computer recovery menu. Check the "Disk Utility" option and click "Continue."

Step 7. If you are not already connected, click the Wi-Fi button to open the list of available wireless networks and connect to the Internet. Without an active connection, the Mac will not be able to download and install the system from scratch.

Step 9. Finally, select your storage disk and click "Install" to begin the process of downloading and installing macOS. The procedure is fully automated, and takes several minutes to complete, depending on the speed of the connection and the performance of the computer - that is, the faster the Internet and more powerful your Mac, the less time it will take to complete the process.
