How to Use the Flip Spell Checker

Flip is a package of proofing tools that has a free online spelling and syntax checker. The site allows you to analyze texts of up to 3, 000 characters, highlighting words with errors and offering options for substitution or synonyms. The user can choose to correct the content according to the formal, current or informal language, and also follow the Spelling Agreement in force since 2016. Step 1. Go to the Flip website (flip.pt) and select the "Flip online" option from the main menu. Then choose "Spelling and Syntax";

Step 2. Check the option of Brazilian Portuguese, selecting the flag of our country, and choose if you want to correct the text according to the Orthographic Reform of 2016. Then, paste the desired text in the main field and press the "Verify text ";

Step 3. The site will display the revised text. Erroneous words and phrases will be highlighted in red. Hover over them to check for correction suggestions. Touch an option to have the tool replace the term immediately;

Step 4. It is possible to inform in the upper bar of options if the text is following the formal, current or informal language;

Step 5. If the text has more than three thousand characters, Flip will display a warning on the screen, and will only make corrections up to the established limit. Press "OK" to continue. The excess of the text will be discarded and deleted from the review;
