Security in Cabify: functions help user avoid problems

Cabify is a popular private chauffeur service that operates in Brazil, known for its discount codes and low prices. However, many users are unaware that it is possible to adjust features to ensure more security and privacy on a day to day basis. These little-known functions are available in the app itself, without downloading anything extra in the phone.

Prevent improper driver connections

Step 1. Open the Cabify app on Android and touch your profile photo at the top left of the screen. A side menu will be displayed. Select the "Preferences" option.

Step 2. Set the "Driver Call" feature. You can choose between "Do not call under any circumstances", "When accepting the trip", "When arriving at the origin" or "When accepting the origin and arriving at the race". This way, you avoid inconvenient connections.

Step 1. As soon as the Cabify race starts, you have the option to share your exact location for greater security. To do this, with the course in progress, touch the button with an arrow located at the top of the card with driver information. Then select which messenger you want to send your route to. In this example we will use WhatsApp.

Step 2. Choose which friend or group you want to send and confirm the action. The person will receive a custom link with their current path and location, which can be opened in the mobile browser or computer, even by those who do not have the Cabify app.

Do not provide your exact location for the driver

Step 1. If you use too much of a personal address to request Cabify but do not want to indicate the exact location for the driver, be aware that it is possible to bookmark a nearby meeting point on the map. The feature is ideal for those who want greater security and privacy. To do this, open the app's side menu by tapping on your top left profile photo, and select "Your locations." Then tap the "+" button at the top right.

Step 2. Enter the address with a number next to the actual one and select the option in the listing. A personalization screen will open. You can enter instructions for the driver to locate you more easily, such as indicating a restaurant, for example, where you will be waiting for the car. Then disable the key next to "Share the location with the driver" to prevent it from viewing your data via GPS. Finally, select on the map the location that the driver will find you, indicated by a purple pin. Confirm with "Save".

You can add multiple custom locations. Now just use this saved location, already configured with your privacy, when ordering Cabify.

Delete saved locations

Step 1. Do not you want curious friends to see your favorite places? Then know that you can delete this data in Cabify. To do this, touch your profile photo at the top left of the screen, and select the "Your locations" option from the side menu.

Step 2. A list of all saved locations will be displayed. Do you want to delete? Press one of the addresses for a few seconds and confirm "Yes" to delete.
