Windows can save audio notes; learn how to do

Windows 10 has a native application that allows you to make voice recordings. The feature is useful for saving audio notes on your computer with reminders or even recording podcasts. The recording file in m4a format - extension for files using the MPEG-4 audio standard - is saved to a specific folder in the document directory and can then be edited in other editing programs.

Here's how to make voice recordings on your PC

Step 1. In the Cortana search bar, type "recorder" and open the first result - Voice Recorder;

Step 2. The application is very simple and has only one button. Click to start recording;

Step 3. When you want to finish, just click on the button again to finish. You can also use the buttons below to pause recording or add a bookmark to easily locate important passages;

Step 4. At the end of the recording, use the buttons in the lower right corner of the window to respectively share the recording, cut out snippets of audio, delete or edit the recording name;

Step 5. If you want to locate the file in Windows Explorer, click the "..." button and, in the menu that appears, click "Open file location";

Step 6. The Windows Explorer folder with the recordings will open. You can copy the audio file wherever you want or open in other programs to edit it.
