Google Maps saves places as contacts and facilitates searching; learn how to use

Google Maps has a function that helps users save important places as contacts in the phone book. The procedure, available only in the Android version of the application, creates a contact card that displays the name and address of the location in a link format. In this way, the map point is saved in Maps and also in the phone's calendar, which allows you to open the location in other map apps and routes such as Waze.

Creating a contact

Step 1. Open Google Maps and touch where you want to save the location. Then drag the description onto the screen and touch the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Step 2. At this point, touch "Add to Contacts". In the next window, enter a name for the location and touch the "Create contact" option.

Step 3. On the confirmation screen to create a new contact, touch "Add home address". You will then see that the location will appear on the map with the name you typed in the contact record. This map point has been tagged and you can find it quickly in the app. To do this, touch the three bars icon in the upper left corner of the screen.

Step 4. In "Your Places", find the location by going to the "Tagged" option. You can use this path to see the point on the map quickly.

Step 1. Open the Contacts app and tap the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen. Then enter the name of the created contact and tap the matching result.
