How do combats work?
As already said, Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos and Lugia will only appear in Reide's cooperative battles. They pop up randomly from time to time in gyms scattered around the world with superpowered characters. The Legends remain active for a limited time to be faced and captured by the players.

To participate in the battle, you must have, first of all, the latest update of Pokémon GO. Then you'll need a Reide Pass. These items can be obtained, one per day, from the Pokétops of each gym. Just as the article is a daily reward, each player can only have one in their inventory and use it in a single place every 24 hours. Anyone who wants, however, can buy additional tickets through microtransaction.
Combat against the Legendary are level 5 and represent the highest level of difficulty in a shared combat. In this specific case, Moltres will always appear with a CP of 41953, below Lugia or Articuno, for example, but still symbolizing one of the most difficult Pokémon GO fights.
In contrast, if captured, it must also be one of the strongest Pokémon in the players inventory, arriving at a CP of 1870 (according to the level of each trainer) and always maintaining a 100% IV.

The best way to locate a Legendary Reide is to keep an eye on the gyms that can be seen in the vicinity. With the game open, Pokémon GO always warns the player when a battle is about to begin and the boss in question always appears highlighted above the location icon.

Another good tip is to use the site Gym Huntr, a community-driven tool that shows real-time Reides that are happening in a particular region. In case of availability, it is possible to walk longer distances in search of Legends, being guided by the service.
What Pokémon to use?
Even though they are powerful, Legendary Pokémon GO also have weaknesses
Moltres is a Legend of the Flying and Fire type. Therefore, its main weaknesses are against characters of the Stone type (here, the attacks are super effective and cause double damage), Water and Electricity. Check out the best monsters and ideal attack combinations in order of effectiveness:
- Golem: Rock Release / Stone Ridge
- Tyranitar: Bite / Stone Ridge
- Vaporeon: Water Revolver / Water Pulse
- Gyarados: Dragon's Tail / Water Pulse
- Omastar: Rock Release / Sliding Stone
- Feraligatr: Water Revolver / Water Pulse
Other good options, but not as efficient as those listed are Lanturn, Rhydon, Lapras, Aerodactyl, Kabutops and Kingdra. On the other hand, Fire-type or uncharacteristic Pokémon are not a good choice. Avoid using Blissey, especially. Despite its great resistance, it has low attack power and, by resisting for several seconds in a cooperative battle, will waste precious moments of combat.
