YouTube launches Picture-in-Picture viewing mode; see how to activate

YouTube has released the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) view in the web version for all users, for browsers such as Google Chrome and Firefox. The feature allows you to continue watching videos while browsing the site. It was already available in the Android and iPhone (iOS) apps of the service and had been tested months before the official arrival.

With the news, the content will be displayed in the form of a miniature player, with fewer functions and located in the lower right corner of the screen. The option is useful because it gives more dynamism in the use of the platform and eliminates the need to stay connected to the same page throughout the video playback. Step 1. Access YouTube and watch a video as usual. Then, hover over the currently playing video;

Step 2. In the lower bar, you will see some options. Click the icon of a rectangle with another smaller rectangle inside, referring to the "Activate miniplayer" action;

Click on the featured icon on YouTube to activate the miniplayer and then the PiP view mode

Step 3. Immediately, a miniature version of the player appears in the lower right corner of the browser. The screen will now display the YouTube homepage. However, you can browse the entire site without interrupting playback. This only happens if you play in another video;

Step 4. The reduced version of the player has the options of play, pause, jump to the next video, close or resume to the original size - when playing in any region of the content on display.
