Sending a fixed location in WhatsApp

WhatsApp lets you share your location in real time for a few minutes or hours. This type of sharing has become standard since it was added in an update. However, the user can still send the location of a static point on the map. You can share the current location you are in or select a point manually, which can be useful for sending the map even without being in place.

Step by step on iPhone (iOS)

Step 1. Open the conversation with the contact to whom you want to send the location. Then touch the plus (+) button in the lower left corner of the screen. Now click "Location."

Step 2. Then go to "Submit Your Current Location" to submit your location.

Step 3. If you want to send the location of a specific point without being there, drag the map and center the blue pin at the desired location. You can also search for the place in the search bar. Finally, touch "Send this location".

Android step by step

Step 1. Open the conversation with the friend or group to whom you want to send the location. Now, click on the paperclip icon to the right of the text field, and select "Location."

Step 3. If you want to send the location from a different point, touch the icon in the upper left corner of the screen to enlarge the map or search for the place in the search bar. Then, center the red pin at the desired location and tap "Send this location".
