How to use Xiaomi's mobile as a router and share the internet

Share 4G / 3G internet with another device over Wi-Fi

Step 1. Open your smartphone settings and touch "Personal hotspot".

Step 2. Touch "Configure Wi-Fi Hotspot". In the "SSID" field, type a name for the wireless network you intend to create, and in the "Password" section, enter a password to secure the connection. Select the band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz - in doubt, choose the first one) and touch "OK" to save the changes.

Step 3. Activate the "Wi-Fi hotspot" key to share the internet with other devices. To confirm that the feature is actually on, see the icon in the notifications area.

Share Wi-Fi with another device via Bluetooth

Step 1. Log in to your smartphone settings and tap "More." Activate the "Tethering Bluetooth" function key.

Step 2. Go back to your mobile settings and go to the "Bluetooth" section. Perform pairing with the device you intend to share the internet with. In this example, it is a notebook with Windows 10.

Step 3. On the device that will use the internet connection, find the Bluetooth management icon and click the "Join a Personal Network" option.

Step 4. Select the Xiaomi phone and click on "Access point". Once this is done, the device can access the internet provided by the phone via Bluetooth.
